She was educated 1894 TO 1904 in CARDSTON, ALBERTA, CANADA. WHEN INA WAS 2 WEEKS OLD, HER MOTHER (CYNTHIA), HAD JUST PLACED CLOTHES AROUND THE STOVE AND THE WATER TO BATHE AND DRESS HER, WHEN A WOMAN CAME RUNNING IN SAYING "RUN, THREE DEPS ARE OUT IN FRONT OF YOUR HOUSE". SHE PUT WRAPS ON ME AND OPENED THE BACK DOOR, TELLING ME TO RUN OUT AND UP INTO ALLEN'S ORCHARD, THAT SHE WOULD CARE FOR THE BABY (INA). CYNTHIA TOOK OFF MY WRAPS , SAT DOWN AND ROCKED IN MY EASY CHAIR, AND SAID I COULD STAY THERE AS MY HUSBAND WAS GONE. IN TEN MINUTES 60 PEOPLE WERE AROUND MY GATE, AND THE DEPS DID NOT LIKE THEIR LOOKS. SO THEY LOOKED THROGH FOUR ROOMS, AND OUT IN THE GRAINARY, RUNNING A PITCH FORK THROUGH THE GRAIN. SO IF ANYONE WAS HIDING IN IT THEY WOULD SURE FIND HIM. THEY LEFT ME AND SEARCHED IRA ALLEN'S HOUSE. THEY ATE DINNER WITH THEM WHILE THEIR MAN GOT AWAY TO SAFETY. THEY CAME TO HYRUM MANY TIMES, BUT DID NTO COME TO MY HOUSE AGAIN. IF THE BOYS IN THE STREET SAW THEM THEY WOULD HASTEN TO TELL ME. I WOULD LEAVE MY WORK AND GO AWAY UNTIL THEY LEFT TOWN.

A NOTE FROM CYNTHIA'S JOURNAL, WRITTEN ON 2 FEB 1906, PAGE 73:
MY GREATEST ANXIETY TO HURRY HOME, WAS TO GET HOME TO INA WHO HAD BEEN BETRAYED AND ROBBED OF HER VIRTUE 4 MONTHS BY A YOUNG MAN, BUD BROWN, WHO HAD SKIPPED THE COUNTRY AND LEFT HER TO BEAR HER SORROW AND SHAME ALONE NONE BUT GOD KNEW WHAT A TRIAL THIS WAS TO US ALL I HAD PERFECT CONFIDENCE IN HIM AND COULD HARDLY BELIEVE HIM GUILTY UNTIL I LEARNED IT FROM HER THEN THE AGONY OF MIND AND BODY GOD ONLY KNOWS.
29 JUNE 1906: SO SAD THAT MOTHER IS DEAD BUT SADDER THAN THIS IS INA'S DISGRACE HER BABY WAS BORN 4 MAY 1906 AFTER SUFFERING A GREAT DEAL BUT SHE WAS PATIENT THROUGH ALL AND THE BABY A SWEET GIRL 11 LBS, WAS BLESSED 12 MAY 1906 BY J. M. WIGHT, NAMED HER IDELLA MAY WIGHT. A TRIAL WAS HELD BY THE BISHOP AND THEY DECIDED THAT BUD SHOULD PAY $50.00 FOR MY WORK AND THE DR. BILL AND $5.00 PER MONTH FOR THE BABE FOR 2 YEARS AND THAT BOTH SHOULD GET BAPTIZED. INA WAS RE-BAPTIZED 1 JULY 1906 AND I WAS SO THANKFUL TO GET THAT DONE AS SHE HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO GO BEFORE SINCE THEIR DECISION. Parents: JOSEPH MORONI WIGHT and CYNTHIA ELNORA NIELSON.

THIS NAME, HOWEVER, WAS NOT GIVEN HIM IN ANY SENSE OF DEPRECIATION, BUT BECAUSE HE WAS A MORMON AND ALWAYS A MISSIONARY, AND THE INDIANS THEMSELVES WERE POLYGAMISTS IN THOSE DAYS.

He died on 2 Aug 1882 in BRIGHAM CITY, BOX ELDER CO., UTAH. He was a FARMER. HE JOINED THE CHURCH WHEN HIS SON JOSEPH MORONI, WAS ABOUT 4 YEARS OLD. Parents: WILLIAM WIGHT and ABIGAIL CUDWORTH.

He was married to NANCY URANIA ELLIOTT on 10 Dec 1827 in CENTERVILLE, ALEGHANY CO., NEW YORK.

AFTER THE BIRTH OF THEIR SECOND CHILD, THE GOSPEL MESSAGE CAME TO THEM. THEY SOON WERE BAPTIZED (21 FEB 1843) IN ALLEGHANY CO., NEW YORK. THEY HAD MADE A DAM IN A STREAM OF WATER RUNNNG THROUGH A SHADY NOOK, AND STEPHEN WIGHT, A COUSIN, OFFICIATED.
IN 1848, LEWIS AND NANCY WIGHT WITH THEIR FAMILY, SOLD THEIR FARM IN NEW YORK AND SETTLED ON THE BANKS OF LITTLE PIGEON CREEK, IOWA. THEY ESTABLISHED A FARM OF 25 ACRES HERE. THEY WANTED TO BE WITH THE MAIN BODY OF SAINTS, WHICH WAS HERE AT THE TIME.
THE SAINTS WERE ALREADY GATHERING TO THE WEST AS FAST AS THEY COULD MOVE ON, AND IT WAS NOT LONG UNTIL LEWIS AND HIS FAMILY WERE AGAIN CALLED UPON TO LEAVE THE COMFORTS THEY HAD BEEN ABLE TO ACCUMULATE, AND FOLLOW THEIR FRIENDS. THEY LEFT THEIR PROPERTY AT THE POINT OF BAYONETS AND WATCHED THEIR HOMES BURNED TO THE GROUND BY AN ANGRY MOB. THEIR PROSPEROUS LITTLE FARM WAS SOLD FOR THE SUM OF $50.00, AND THAT WAS ABOUT ALL THEY COULD GET TO HELP THEM ON THEIR WAY.
THEY JOINED BISHOP EDWARD HUNTER'S COMPANY OF ONE HUNDRED WAGONS AND STARTED THEIR PILGRIMAGE ACROSS THE OPEN PLAINS. THEY WERE POORLY EQUIPPED AND THEIR SUPPLIES WERE SCANT, BUT THEIR HEARTS WERE BRAVE, FOR THEY KNEW THE LORD WOULD PROTECT THEM.
THE COMPANY PASSED THROUGH ALL THE HARDSHIPS OF THOSE LONG HARD JOURNEYS, SUFFERING COLD, PRIVATIONS AND HUNGER. THEY ARRIVED IN SALT LAKE VALLEY ON 13 OCTOBER 1850.
LEWIS AND NANCY SETTLED AT MILL CREEK, UTAH. AND BEGAN GATHERING THE COMFORTS OF LIFE ABOUT THEM ONCE MORE. HOWEVER, IN 1856 THEY CAME TO BRIGHAM CITY, AND FINALLY SUCCEEDED IN SECURING FARMLAND NEAR BEAR RIVER WHERE THEY WERE AMONG THE VERY FIRST TO RAISE GRAIN ON DRYLAND. WHILE AT MILL CREEK THEY LOOKED AFTER THE CHURCH CATTLE, MILKING 75 COWS AND MAKING BUTTER AND CHEESE. THEY CONTINUED TO LOOK AFTER THE CHURCH CATTLE WHEN THEY MOVED TO BEAR RIVER.
WHEN WORD CAME THAT JOHNSON'S ARMY WAS ON ITS WAY TO MOLEST THE "MORMONS", THE LEADERS OF THE CHURCH ADVISED EVERYONE TO LEAVE THEIR HOMES AND TRAVEL SOUTH.
